Under The Willows was conceived of and founded by Dr. Ruth Pickering, a retired Child Psychiatrist and Narrative Therapist whose 40 years of clinical practice led her to develop this summer program for children and youth with lived-experiences of trauma to experience joy, grow in imagination and feel safe enough to just be children while they engage with their own creativity and those around them.
